Doppelgaenger is a documentation of a woman training her look-alike to behave like herself. It shows another way of looking at the world with a person that can’t participate in anything herself. She needs other people to go for her. The woman has to find similar looking people, she has to interview and train them to represent herself.

In a world where no-one is able to be oneself everyone has to have a network of other people to stand for himself and in return go for someone else. According to modern neuroscience the self is an illusion namely a simulation of our brain. In Doppelgaenger this self becomes again distorted. Multiple personalities make up one identity and the self is scattered within multiple personalities. The self has dissolved.
